Machining: Basic

Overview

Learn to work with precision measurement instruments and grinding, lathe, drill press, and milling machines.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals who wish to get introduced to machine tools. They will learn with the fundamentals of bench layout, organization, and metal removal processes.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

·Identify the use of hand tools

·Demonstrate shop safety practices

·Discuss and demonstrate proper work ethic

·Explain measurement tools

·Identify and understand basic operations of the lathe, drill press, and milling machine

·Read and calculate measurements

·Clean, lubricate and conduct basic machine maintenance

·Explain the units of length
