Math for Manufacturing: Intermediate

Overview

Learn to use arithmetic operations, combined operations, metric conversion, fractional/decimal conversion, angular arithmetic, measurement with rules and gauges, and basic geometry.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals who wish to expand their math skills for manufacturing applications, and apprentices in the machine, tool and die, and tool design trades.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

·Convert between common and decimal fractions

·Convert between English and metric systems of measurement

·Perform combined arithmetic operations in correct order

·Round numbers and calculate averages

·Calculate and work with ratios

·Add and subtract angles expressed as degrees-minutes-seconds and decimal degrees.

·Convert angular measurements between decimal degrees and degrees-minutes-seconds

·Use rules, scales and gauges to obtain correct measurements

·Use the pocket calculator memory and combined-operation functions

·Use plane geometry fundaments for triangles, rectangles, squares, circles
