At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

·Define failure and how FMEA can reduce the risk of failure

·Define the relationship of FMEA to quality planning and prevention

·Identify the differences between a design and process FMEA

·List the key elements of a FMEA

·Develop a design FMEA

·List typical failure modes, causes, and effects

·score each failure mode, effect and control mechanism

·detemine the Risk Potential Score of each process step

·develop action plans for high RPN process steps
